In March of 2020 Gamelan Sekar Jaya & ShadowLight Productions were refining details in the final rehearsals for the original adaptation of Drupadi. On the eve of the premiere of Drupadi, live performances across the country were postponed to practice shelter in place in anticipation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Check out our acclaimed crew, Emiko Saraswati Susilo (Dance Choreographer) , Brenda Wong Aoki (Storyteller), Zara Houshmand (Writer), I Made Suteja (Dance Director), and Larry Reed (Director) share their insight on process and bringing the titular character to life.
